The official photo car of EMPgymnastics

When I first visited Romania in 1989, there was just one car on the road: the Dacia. After the fall of communism in December of 1989, Dacia was sold to French auto-maker Renault, and the good-old Dacia went out of production in 2004.

The Dacia brand still exists, but not the original, Romanian-built cars that generations of Romanians grew up with. Now, you hardly see them anymore, not even in Romania. But these are adorable little cars! No a/c (unless you roll down the windows), 4-speed manual transmission, carburetor with manual choke, etc. Oh yeah, and 56 hp! My Dacia can go 70mph, but downhill with a tail wind! But no matter! I brought mine over in 2019 on a ship, and it is the cutest car in America! Wouldn't trade it for the world! So if you see this at your meet, it's a Dacia. It's a treasure!
